About Me

I would like to take just a minute to explain why I titled my blog, "The Fervent Home". When I looked up fervent in the Online Etymology Dictionary, it listed "glowing" among the few words meaning fervent. I thought to myself, glowing is a good description of what I want my homemaking to be to others. My homemaking reflects who I am as a Christian, wife and mother. Therefore I want it to be glowing! Not because of me, but because of Jesus Christ working through me. I chose fervent instead of glowing, because it is used in the Bible to describe what our spirit should be. It is found in Romans 12:11-13.

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Romans 12 is a great passage to read, for it is a reminder of what we should strive to do and be as Christians.

Now about me, my name is Joanna and my loving husband, David, and I are Bible believing Christians. We have four beautiful children, ages, 8, 6.5, 5, and 2.

My husband and I strive to eat organically grown foods and live a healthy, frugal lifestyle.

I very much enjoy being a wife and mother. It was my heart's desire and the Lord has found it in His will to bless me with it. I am constantly learning new things as a homemaker. I thought it would be great if I could put everything in one place and share it with others. Soooo... this is why I have created a blog. I plan on posting here and there when new things come my way and I learn something really neat. I will also be posting my family updates for our family and friends. 😊❤️

My hope is that you will be blessed, challenged and encouraged through my posts.

To God be the glory!
